Phillip’s planning & development journey is a rich and varied one, starting from finishing his first degree and finishing in a key role within a Local Authority where he spent a decade refining his skills and gaining his MSc in Spatial Planning and Development through Reading University. He subsequently worked for various planning consultancies and Local Planning Authorities across multiple application of various sizes throughout England gaining planning permission and sourcing land for clients. Before founding Athelney Land, Phillip worked as a self-employed planning consultant, offering a high quality planning service for private clients and developers. His expertise and passion for planning, development and design ultimately led to the creation of Athelney Land to offer a planning led services and solutions for land owners. As Director, Phillip takes the lead in taking projects from conception to planning submission and beyond. His focus is on agricultural and rural projects, providing practical sustainable solutions and honest, upfront advise. Phillip considers that each project should be specific to its place within the community that it sits. As the founder and director, he is the catalyst behind Athelney Land's focus on the realisation of land values and delivering for the landowner. Phillip has led and delivered on planning schemes responsible for delivering hundreds of homes across the country. His experience ranges across multiple disciplines through first-hand experience as well as education, and he has worked with a diverse range of developers and professionals including Bellway, Bewley, Miller Homes and Wates Group. Outside of the office, Phillip enjoys attending concerts, playing drums, reading and travelling when time allows. His work is deeply rooted in a love of development, the countryside and built form.
